ILMA HAYNES. Ilma, the 14 months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Haynes, of Bylong, died in Mudgee District Hospital on Saturday. The little one was brought in from Bylong on Thursday night, but despite all medical skill and nursing attention, passed away. The remains were interred in the Catholic portion of the Ulan cemetery, the Rev. Father Cooney, Gulgong, officiating at the graveside. Mr. J. C. Swords had charge of the funeral arrangements. DEATH AT GULGONG MRS. J. HARVEY The sad death occurred at a private hospital in Gulgong quite recently of Mrs. Harvey, wife of Mr. J. Harvey. Deceased was 23 years of age, was well known and highly respected. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Bolton, of Gulgong. OBITUARY MRS. J. HARVEY Mrs. J. Harvey, whose sad death occurred in a private hospital in Gulgong on January 13, was 23 years of age, and was well known in the Mudgee and Gulgong districts. She was highly respected and loved by everyone who knew her. She was a daughter of esteemed residents of the town (Mr. and Mrs. W. Bolton). In addition to the sorrowing husband she is survived by two sons, Lionel and Jimmy, also the following brothers and sisters:- William Bolton (Talbragar station), Mesdames Con. Ashton and W. Pennell and Misses Hannah and Ivy Bolton (Gulgong), Mrs. Haynes (Wollara station) and Mrs. Bert Harding (Eugalong). Deepest sympathy is extended to the sorrowing family. DEATHS William J. Bolton MR. William J. Bolton, whose death occurred at the Gulgong Hospital late on Friday, July 14, was 67 years of age. He was a native of Singleton. The late Mr. Bolton was a hard working man and of a kindly disposition. Prior to coming to Gulgong about seven years ago he was on the land in the Turill district for about 20 years. He had been caretaker of Jas. Loneragan (Milling) Co.'s flour mill at Gulgong for some years up till the time ill-health took him to Sydney, where he was in hospital for three months. He was a valued employee of the firm. On Friday morning he returned to Gulgong and was taken to the Gulgong Hospital, where he passed away late that afternoon. The funeral took place to the Catholic portion of the Gulgong cemetery on Saturday afternoon, the Rev. Father E. Crowe officiating at the graveside. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. R. S. Bayliss, of Gulgong. Besides a widow, the following family is left to mourn their loss: Mr. W. J. Bolton (Coolah district), Mesdames J. LATE MRS. C. ASHTON MRS. C. Ashton, whose death occurred on Tuesday of last week, was 41 years of age. Her untimely death came as a very great shock to her husband and family and friends. She had been listening in to the wireless at 10 o'clock on Monday night prior to retiring for the night in apparently good health. At 4 a.m. she was admitted to the Gulgong District Hospital and died some hours later following an operation. The late Mrs. Ashton, who was a daughter of Mrs. Bolton and the late Mr. William Bolton, of Gulgong, was born at Cassilis, and had many friends in that and the Gulgong and Mudgee districts. She was a home-loving woman, to whom her husband and the following family who are left to mourn their loss were devoted: William, Merle, Melba, Carmel, Hannah, Mary and Norman. GULGONG DISTRICT NEWS DEATH MRS. NORAH BOLTON After a long illness Mrs. Norah Bolton passed away last Wednesday at the residence of her son-in-law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Harding, of Back Lead, Gulgong. After some 12 months illness in Sydney, where she had specialised treatment, she was conveyed to Gulgong and made a somewhat satisfactory recovery under the attention of a local doctor. Since she took a stroke over a fortnight ago members of her devoted family rarely left her bedside. Deceased was born at Cassilis 84 years ago. She had many friends in the Cassilis and Gulgong districts and before taking up residence at Black Lead, resided at Turill for some years. The long cortege to the Catholic portion of the Gulgong cemetery. Rev. Father Crowe officiating, and the large number of floral tributes, was evidence of her popularity. A number of wreaths were sent by friends in Sydney. Her husband predeceased her 18 years ago. The following members of the family survive: Mr. W. Bolton (Wollara, Wollar), Mesdames. W. Pennell (Home Rule), Bert Harding (Black Lead), J. Austin (Beryl) Don Young (Sydney) and E. O'Glynn (Sydney). Two daughters, Mesdames, Con Ashton and L. Harvey died some years ago. HANNAHSTEIN AUSTIN The death occurred on February 15 of Mrs. Hannahstein Mary Austin of Beryl, at the Gulgong District Hospital after a short illness. Mrs. Austin was 72 years, and was well known in the district. She is survived by her husband, John, and son John, his wife and children.
