LITHGOW AND DISTRICT DEATHS

MR. J. W. AULD Lithgow residents heard with regret on Friday of the death on that day of a fine citizen and well respected resident, Mr. John William Auld, who passed away in Lithgow hospital at the age of 66 years. Mr. Auld came to Lithgow from Leadville about seven years ago and during the war, worked at the S.A.F. However, owing to ill health, he was unable to work for some months prior to his death, although he only entered hospital on the Thursday night. Deceased is survived by a widow, Mrs. Catherine Auld, Musket-parade; two sons, Messrs. John William Auld, Bells-road, Oakey Park and Samuel Edgar Auld, 46 Musket-parade; and four daughters, Mesdames W. Blackburn, Academy-street, J. Bryan, Gosford, J. Condon, Lidcombe, and Miss Edna Auld, Musket-parade, to whom sympathy will be extended. The funeral, which was largely attended, moved from St. Patrick's church after a service on Saturday afternoon by the Rev. Father Nolan and burial took place in the Catholic portion of Bowenfels cemetery. Numerous wreaths were placed on the grave. Pallbearers were: Messrs. J. Auld, E. Auld (sons), R. Auld, T. Auld, H. Auld and E. Auld (brothers of deceased). Messrs. Matthews and Lemon were in charge of arrangements.
