Mr. F. R. Tomlinson

Although he had been ill for over 12 months, the death at his home in Mayne Street at 6 p.m. on April 7, of Mr. Francis Roland Tomlinson, came as a shock to his relatives and friends. Deceased, aged 61 years, was born in Gulgong and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Tomlinson of Queen Street. He had spent almost five months at intervals in a hospital and deceased had not actively conducted his trade as a building contractor for some ? months. He had a reputation of being a capable tradesman and successful carpentry business. His first job after leaving school was at the timber yard at Jas. Loneragans, Gulgong Pty. Ltd. After a time he went to Sydney and took up carpentry work on various parts of the State for the Department of Education. He also worked for a big building firm at Leura and for his father who retired from the building trade some years ago. As a builder the late Mr. Tomlinson was well known and highly respected in the Mudgee, Gulgong, Dunedoo and surrounding districts. Deceased is survived by a widow, (the former Miss Ivy Jenkins), and family of five, viz.: Mr. Clyde Tomlinson of Gulgong, Mesdames. Noel (Leslie Toole, of Gulgong, A. (Esma) Robinson, of Tallawang, and D. ( Iris, “Trixie”) Stahl of Gulgong, Miss Pam Tomlinson of Sydney. After a service in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, the burial taking place to the Presbyterian portion of the Gulgong cemetery. Rev. A. Menza Officiating. Our sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones.
