Gudgeon The sudden passing of Mrs. Maud Mary Caroline Gudgeon, wife of Mr. Henry James Gudgeon, at their home, 45 Murralong Avenue, Fivedock, came as a distinct shock to her relatives and many friends in Gulgong and district. Her death occurred on the fifty-fifth anniversary of her wedding day. A kind gracious lady who found her happiness in loving and loyal service to her family and others who came under her ? influence and will be sadly missed ?? The funeral which was very largely attended took place from the Burwood SA Citadel after a service conducted by Brigadier and Mrs. Stanley Kingston and friends of the family to the Crematorium, Rookwood. The floral tributes were many and beautiful, included in the number was one from the management and employees of the Strathfield Body Works, Lidcombe, Mr. Gudgeon’s place of employment. On Sunday evening 19th October, a Service of Remembrance was held in the Burwood Citadel. At this service which was conducted by Colonel and Mrs. Warren and family and former family friends and former officers of the Gulgong S. A. Corps paid tributes to the life and Christian service of Mrs. Gudgeon. Special music and singing was sympathetically rendered by the band and songsters of the Burwood Corps. Mrs. Gudgeon is survived by her husband, a son Arthur (Walgett) and three daughters, Mrs. J. L. (Maud) Collier, of North Ryde, Mrs. R. G. (Gladys) Campbell of Barbadoon Gulgong, Mrs. F. G. (Hazel) Vickery, of Toongabbie West, and seven grandchildren, also two sisters, Mrs. W. (Minnie) Spiller of Burwood; and Mrs. C. (Flossie) Gullick of Moorebank West.
