WADE - HUGHES (Gulgong) The Presbyterian Church at Gulgong was the scene of a pretty wedding on June 22, when Miss Rita Hughes was married to Laurance Wade, youngest son of Mrs. Wade, of Gulgong. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, who gave her away. She looked charming in a gown of white stiffened net with lace top over white satin. Her veil was held in place with a floral head-dress. She carried a bouquet of cream and pink roses and fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Helen Hughes, and Miss Mavis Lyons, niece of the bridegroom. Both were dressed alike in green stiffened net over green taffeta and carried bouquets of red roses. The flowers of the bride and bridesmaids' bouquets were given by Dr. Marjorie Tunley. The bridegroom was attended by Hilary Hughes (best man) and Vivian Hughes (groomsman), bRothers of the bride. The wedding breakfast was held in the Presbyterian School Hall, where about 50 guests were entertained. The bride's travelling dress was blue with navy accessories. Mrs. Lydia Wade A Gulgong native, Mrs. Lydia Wade, aged 74 years, died in Gulgong District Hospital on December 12, Deceased, who was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter jaguar, of Gulgong, was married in the town to Mr. William Carter Wade, who passed away in 1939, and who was a brother of Mr. T. J. Wade. of Sydney and formerly of Gulgong, who died only recently. Mrs. Wade’s husband conducted a market garden at Puggoon before acquiring a property at Birriwa. After his death, Mrs. Wade came to Gulgong to live in retirement. She spent the last 12 years in a wheel chair. The late Mrs. Wade is survived by the following family:- Clarence (Orange), Herbert (Sydney), Reuben (Dunedoo), Stanley (Labrador,Q), Clarrie (Sydney), Albert (Sydney), Lawrence (Gulgong), Mesdames. Vince (Val.) Cross, of Beryl; Fred. Roberts (Gulgong), C. Cook (Coonabarabran), Les. Carter (Orange), and a step-sister Agnes MUlholland, of Sydney. The following brother and sisters also survive: Mr. Christopher Jaguer (Dunedoo), Mesdames. Alf. Lyons (Gulgong), Tom Copeland (Dunedoo), George Tibbe (Dunedoo and formerly of Gulgong), Jack Rothe (Mudgee and formerly of Tucklan). The late Mr. Ernest Jaguer, of West Australia and formerly of Gulgong, was a brother. The funeral took place to the other denominations portion of the Gulgong cemetery, Mr. W. Bains officiating. Our sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones.

Obituary

The death occurred in the Gulgong District Hospital last Saturday, of Mr. Herbert John Wade of Ulan Road, Gulgong. The late Mr. Wade had been ill for some months. He is a native of the Dunedoo - Gulgong area, and except for a period spent in Sydney, has spent the greater part of his life in the district, where he was engaged in the timber industry. The late Mr. Wade is survived by his wife, six sons and five daughters. The funeral took place in the Gulgong Cemetery, following a service in the Presbyterian Church, Gulgong at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

Herbert John Wade

The death occurred in the Gulgong District Hospital on May 10, of Herbert John Longsdale Wade, 67. He was late of Ulan road, Gulgong. His death came after a long illness. Mr. Wade is survived by his wife, Veronica and a large family. His funeral took place in the Gulgong Cemetery on May 13 after a service in the Presbyterian Church.
