On the 3rd inst., the Bylong Church was the scene of a very pretty wedding, the contracting parties being Mr. W. T. C. Collins, second eldest son of Mr. W. T. Collins, of Ringwood, and Miss Mary Chitty, eldest daughter of Mrs. Chitty, of Bylong. The Rev. F. J. Harris, of Rylstone was the officiating minister; Miss Clarris Myers, of Wollar, presided at the organ, and played the ''Wedding March'' and the hymn ''The Voice That Breathed O'er Eden.'' The church was nicely decorated with greenery and white flowers, with an arch in the centre, all tied with white ribbon. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. A. Chitty, looked very nice in a dress of cream canvas voile, trimmed with cream satin bebe ribbon, lace and orange blossoms, and wore the usual wreath and veil, also a gold brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. Miss Lena Chitty, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid, and wore a dress of white muslin, trimmed with white lace and insertion, with black picture hat, and gold brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. Leonard Collins, acted as groomsman. After the ceremony, all gathered to the residence of the bride's mother, where a sumptuous wedding breakfast was laid, and after the usual toasts, games were played until night, then about twenty couples danced until morning, when everybody appeared well satisfied. The presents were numerous and useful. The bride and bridegroom drove away to their home on the Krui River 'midst showers of rice, confetti, old slippers, and good wishes for their future happiness. - Merriwa "Standard." Death | 1927 Age: 82 OBITUARY. MR. THOS. COLLINS. Mr. Thos. Collins, a very old and respected resident of the Merriwa district, passed away last week at the ripe age of 82 years, and on Friday, Sept. 30, several Cassilis residents journeyed down to pay their last respects. The funeral was one of the largest seen at Merriwa testifying to the esteem in which he was held. The deceased had lived the greater part of his long life in the district and his sterling life won the admiration of all with whom he came in contact. A sad feature connected with his death is the serious illness of his wife, who is 75 years of age, and very little hope of her recovery is held out by her medical adviser. The old couple were devoted to each other and the parting was a serious wrench to the old lady. Mr. W. H. Collins, of Cassilis, and Mr. Fred Collins, of Borambil, two highly-esteemed citizens, are sons of deceased. We extend to the bereaved family our heartfelt sympathy in their sad bereavement.
