Note: Funeral of Charlotte Alice Moss

Funeral of Charlotte Alice Moss The funeral of the late Mrs. Moss, who passed on at the age of 85, took place after a service at the Salvation Army Citadel on October 7. The service was conducted by Lieut. Gittins, who referred feelingly to the qualities of the departed comrade. Prior to concluding, he asked the Rev. Conibear to sing Mrs. Moss's favorite hymn, 'The Old Rugged Cross.' The Rev. Father E. Hawkey officiated at the organ. The remains were interred in the Salvation Army portion of the Rylstone General Cemetery. To the bereaved we extend our deepest sympathy. Another grand old pioneer has passed from our midst - a lady of the first water; yes, a lady who it was an honor to call a friend (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 17 October 1946, page 9).
