Death of a sister | Rosa Greensilver 4 March 1908 (aged 28 years) MRS. STAPLETON. Another death from enteric took place yesterday, the victim being Mrs. Stapleton, wife of Mr. T. Stapleton, blacksmith of Short St. The deceased was only 25 years of age and leaves two young children. The remains will be taken to Mudgee for interment by the mail train this evening, Mr. Jas. Thompson having charge of the funeral arrangements (Wellington Times, Thursday 5 March 1908, page 4). |
Death of a brother | Thomas James Green 17 August 1914 (aged 34 years) THOMAS GREEN. The death took place in Mudgee early this morning of a man named Thomas Green, aged about 45 years. The deceased, who was a resident of Leaning Oak, had only been suffe-ing about 10 days. The cause of death was lung trouble. Deceased leaves a widow and family of 12 children, to whom we extend our deepest sympathy. The funeral took place this afternoon (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Monday 17 August 1914, page 2). |

Death of a brother | Edward Greensilver 23 July 1935 (aged 55 years) DEATHS Mr. C. F. E. Green MR. Charles Frederick Edward Green, well known farmer and grazier of Leaning Oak, near Yarrabin, died on Tuesday at the age of 58. The late Mr. Green is survived by a widow, two daughters and one son. The daughters are Mesdames G. T. Goodman (Kandos) and Garland (Mudgee), and the son is Mr. Alf. (Leaning Oak). There are also two bers, Messrs. John (Mudgee), and Sam (Queensland, formerly of Grattai), and three sisters, Mesdames Ben Whittaker (Collingwood), J. Whittaker (Avisford), and F. McLean (Cudgegong). Mr. Green was born at Leaning Oak, and had lived there all his life. The burial took place yesterday afternoon in the family's private cemetery at Leaning Oak, the service at the graveside being conducted by Rev. L. C. S. Walker. Arrangements were in the hands of Mr. H. Burton (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 25 July 1935, page 3). |

Death of a sibling | John Greensilver 10 February 1940 (aged 60 years) DEATHS Mr. John Green AS mentioned briefly in our last Issue the death occurred on Saturday night of one of the pioneers of the Mudgee district, in the person of Mr. John Green, at the age of about 70 years. He was born In Mudgee and in his early days he followed up shearing, and mining. For many years he worked on the Maitland Bar and Hargraves gold fields. About 30 years ago he came from the country and took up residence In Mudgee. He then managed the Havilah quarries for a long period until he had to retire some years ago. He was a fine old character and had a host of friends throughout this district. He leaves to mourn a widow and a grown up family of three sons and five daughters, viz. Jack (Mudgee), Keith (Sydney), Vincent (Mudgee), Mrs. Frank Morris (Mudgee), Mrs. Stan Gentle (Mudgee), Mrs. Jim Kelly (Mudgee), Mrs. Albert Kerney (Kandos), and Mrs. Tom Fittler .(Mudgee) . There are 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was married at Mudgee about 49 years ago to a Miss Blackman, whose people were pioneers of the town. He has three sisters and one ber living, viz, Mrs. . McLean (Blackheath), Mrs. Jim Whlttaker (Avlsford)', Mrs. Ben Whlttaker (Collingwood), and Mr. Sam Green (Queensland). The funeral took place on Sun day afternoon to the Catholic portion of the Mudgee cemetery. Rev. Father-Cass officiated at the grave side. The. funeral arrangements were in the hands of Messrs. J. C. Swords and Son. Deceased was an old member of the Ancient Order of Foresters, and the members of the lodge led the funeral cortege (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 22 February 1940, page 2). |
