Joseph Henry Haynes Mr. Joseph Henry Haynes, an old and respected resident of Cook's Gap, died at his home this morning, aged 75 years. He is survived by a widow and nine sons and daughters, to whom sincere sympathy is extended. The funeral will take place to the Church of England portion of the Ulan Cemetery tomorrow (Friday). SAD PASSING Many regretted the passing of that grand old gentleman of Ulan, Mr. Joseph Henry Haynes, at the age of 75. Born at Maitland, as a youth he came to the Mudgee district, where later he married Miss Louisa Mary Large, of Linburn. He took up farming in the Ulan district, where he spent the rest of his life. By reason of his pleasing personality and love of home life his passing is deeply felt. He is survived by a widow, six sons and three daughters, viz., Messrs. Robert (Queensland), Tom (A M.F.), Norman (A.M.F.), Leslie (Linburn), Bert and Percy (Cassilis), Mesdames P. Soles (Cassilis), A. G. Byfield (Ulan), J. McCabe (Ulan), and four sisters, Mesdames J. Round-A-Bout With Belle The death occurred of Mr. Percy William Haynes a highly respected resident of Cassilis. Percy who was sixty-four years of age has not enjoyed good health for some time. He was the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Haynes of the Turill and Cook’s Gap area. He had lived in the Cassilis area and was employed on “Dalkeith Station” for many years, having only retired from working there in recent years. Percy was one of a large family of eleven children. He is survived by his wife Ellen, daughters Roslyn and Annette and one son Glenn, also his sisters Mrs. Rose Soles of Cassilis, Mrs. Elsie Byfield of Ulan, Mrs. Charlotte McCabe of Mudgee (formerly of Ulan) and bers Mr. Bert Haynes of Cassilis and Mr. Les Haynes of Cook’s Gap. He was predeceased by five bers Bob, Stan, Joe, Tom and Norman. The funeral took place in the Cassilis Cemetery following a service in the Cassilis Catholic Church at 10.30 am on August 18.
