Death of a paternal grandmother | Mary Ann Rutter February 1905 (aged 19 years) CAPERTEE DEATH OF AN OLD RESIDENT. (From our own Correspondent) An old and respected resident of this district, in the person of Mrs Henry Freestone, of Kangaroo Flat, died on Saturday night last aged 82. The cause of death was apoplexy. Dr. F. Wendler was called in on Saturday evening, but she was too far gone for medical skill to be of any avail, and gradually sank, and passed away about midnight. She leaves behind a husband and large grown up family to mourn their loss, and for whom the deepest sympathy is felt. The deceased, with her husband, came to this locality over forty years ago. The funeral took place at 2 p.m. on Monday, and the remains were interred in the Capertee cemetery (Lithgow Mercury, Friday 3 March 1905, p. 3). |
