DEATHS Martha Jane Freestone THE death took place at the residence of her daughter (Mrs. Livingstone), Rodgers street, Kandos, on Saturday morning of Martha Jane Freestone, in her 72nd year. The deceased was a popular and respected citizen of La Hogue, Capertee, where she had resided for the past 54 years. She was pre-deceased by her husband seven years ago. A family of five daughters, viz., Mrs. Livingstone (Kandos), Mrs. Porter (Earlwood), Mrs. Olsen (Manly), Mrs. Lyons (Summer Hill), Mrs. Jack Wade (Kandos), and two sons, Jack (Petersham) and Frank (Capertee) is left to mourn. The funeral which was largely attended, took place to the Capertee cemetery, the Rev. Father Edwell officiating at the grave. The funeral arrangements were in the hands of Mr J. B. Simpkins, Kandos. The "Guardian" extend their deepest sympathy to the bereaved (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 30 November 1939, page 6).

DEATH FREESTONE - Nov. 18, 1939, at the residence of her daughter, Rogers street, Kandos (late of La Hogue, Capertee), Martha Jane, widow of the late James King Freestone and dearly loved mother of James (deceased), Jane (deceased), Annie, John, Min., Ethel, .Veda, Lillian (deceased), Frank and Ella - aged 72 years 11 months. So loved so mourned. Interred Capertee cemetery November 19, 1939 (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Monday 27 November 1939, page 4).
