Marriage of a child | Frederick George Oram — Beatrice Mary Ferguson — View this family 19 June 1901 Wedding Bells A very pretty wedding was celebrated in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church (which was tastefully decorated for the occasion) on Wednesday, the contracting parties being George Frederick Oram, eldest son of Mr. George Oram, of Lawson's Creek, and Miss Beatrice May Ferguson, of Gundagai. The Rev. C. W. Willis performed the ceremony. As the bride was escorted to the altar, the choir (of which she was a member) sang ''The Voice That Breathed O'er Eden.'' The bride was becomingly attired in white tucked silk, white bows, and picture hat to match. The bridesmaid was Miss Ada Branscombe, dressed in white silk and white picture hat. Both bride and bridesmaid carried beautiful shower bouquets. The bride was given away by her uncle, Mr. T. Belcher, and the groomsman was Mr. Dorrington. After the ceremony, the bridal party proceeded to the Cudgegong Council Chambers, where a sumptuous wedding breakfast was provided, at which a large number of guests were present. Death | 23 November 1916 Age: 76 Obituary MR. GEORGE ORAM. It will be learnt with great regret that Mr. George Oram, father of Alderman G. F. Oram, of the Cudgegong Council, died this morning. Mr. Oram, a thoroughly honest and straightforward man, was one of the most highly respected residents of the town, and his death will be greatly felt by a large circle of friends and admirers. Mr. Oram, who had attained the ripe age of 76 years, had been ill for some 12 months with a general break up of the system, and his end was not unexpected. He was a native of Somersetshire, England, and came to Australia when about 18 years of age. He was for some three or four years engaged carting with bullocks over the Blue Mountains and in the Orange district. Later on he took up land at Cooyal, where he resided for many years. Between 14 and 15 years ago Mr. Oram bought a farm at Lawson's Creek from Mr. Rowe, and about five years ago he retired from the farm and took up his residence in Mudgee. He thenceforward lived in town up to the time of his death. Mr. Oram was twice married. His first wife died while he was at Cooyal, and shortly after settling at Lawson's Creek he married a second time. His second wife, who survives him, was the widow of Mr. James Norris, of Lawson's Creek. There are no children of the second marriage, but the following children of the first marriage survive:- Mr. G. F Oram (Mudgee), and Mesdames F. Wallace (Queensland), A. Moon (Tamworth), Monty Gresti (Sydney), G. Menchin (Sydney), and W. Branscombe (Mudgee). The funeral will take place to-morrow afternoon at half-past two.
