Honeysett THE death occurred in the Gulgong District Hospital on Friday afternoon last, of Mrs. Annie Honeysett, wife of Mr. Herbert George Honeysett, of Tallawang, aged 61 years. Deceased was a native of Gunnedah, and was married at Tallawang. She had been ill for about 12 months, and had been a patient in the hospital since June 17 last. Deceased is survived by a widower and grown-up family. The funeral took place to the Church of England portion of the Gulgong Cemetery on Saturday afternoon, the Rev. L. V. Caldwell officiating. Leslie James Honeysett Death Mainly About People Mudgee District Personalities A well known and highly esteemed resident of Gulgong, in the person of Mr. Leslie James Honeysett, passed away in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, on Sunday last at the age of 55 years. The funeral took place yesterday to the Church of England portion of the Gulgong cemetery, Rev. J. Woodhouse officiating, and was followed by a Masonic service. Honeysett By the death recently of Mr. Leslie James Honeysett in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, the town has lost one of its estimable citizens. Deceased will be particularly missed by his many relatives, fellow workmen and members of the Bowling Club. Les. had a likeable nature and friends all over the district, in which he spent his working life. He was held in high esteem by people in all walks of life: “one of the best” aptly describes the people’s departed friend, Les. The late Mr. Honeysett, born at Tallawang 55 years ago, was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Honeysett, of Tallawang and married Miss Maud Stewart (daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. Stewart) at Goolma, the late Rev. L. V. Caldwell (Church of England) performing the ceremony and also later christening the two daughters, one, Shirley, passing away about 10 years ago. St. Luke’s Church was crowded for the service to the late Mr. Honeysett, prior to the funeral taking place to the Church of England portion of the Gulgong cemetery, Rev. John Woodhouse officiating. The oration in the church was given by Mr. J. H. Stahl as president of Gulgong Bowling Club. Bowling Club members acted as pall bearers and formed a guard of honour at the church and members of the Masonic Lodge, Wyaldra, acting as pall bearers at the graveside. A Masonic service was held in the local Temple. Deceased is survived by his wife and one daughter. Mrs. Lesley Bayliss, who has returned from 12 months service in Malaya. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Messrs. Herbert Honeysett (Punchbowl), Andrew Honeysett (Gulgong), Richard Honeysett (Goolma), Michael Honeysett (Mumbil), Mesdames Andy (Sarah) Hanslow of Auburn: Simon (Elsie) Hanslow, of Tottenham: Ted (Rita) Moore, of Cootamundra: Reg. Death of a brother | Andus Charles Honeysett 22 March 1974 (aged 52 years) Obituary Andy Honeysett Mr. Andus Charles Honeysett, better known as Andy Honeysett died after a long illness in the Gulgong District Hospital on 22nd March, 1974. Mr. Honeysett who prior to his death lived at “Westwood” Gulgong, leaves two sons George and Tom who reside in Gulgong and Ken. His wife predeceased him. A funeral service was held at St. Luke’s Church of England on March 25, for interment in the Catholic portion of the Gulgong cemetery. Rev. Tom Jewett officiated. Macquarie Valley Funerals had charge of arrangements. |
