Death of a father | Robert Pickett 6 September 1945 (aged 37 years) SAD PASSING Mr. Robert Pickett, aged 73 years, passed- away in a Mudgee private hospital on Thursday morning last, September 6. Deceased, who married Miss Matilda Freeburn, at Rylstorie in 1904, lived for the past 40 years in Cassilis and Lue districts. He took u a farming property known as Forest View, Lue; where he lived until his death. besides a widow, three children are left to mourn, viz., Len (Cassilis), Harold (Coolah) and Mrs. Arthur Menchin (Lue). The last sad rites were carried out by the Methodist minister at Rylstone on Friday last. Many will regret the passing of this grand old gentleman, whose popularity amongst his fellow citizens was evidenced by one of the largest funerals witnessed in the Lue district. Death of a mother | Matilda Jane Freeburn 28 June 1947 (aged 39 years) Mrs. Pickett An old and highly esteemed resident of the Lue district in the person of Mrs. Matilda Jane Pickett, died on Saturday last, aged 68 years. Her husband predeceased her by about 12 months. To the bereaved family of sons and daughters the sympathy of the whole district is extended. The funeral took place to the Methodist portion of the Lue cemetery this morning, the Rev. Mr. Conibear, of Rylstone, officiating Messrs. J. C. Swords & Son carried out the arrangements.
