DEATH

THE death occurred at the Gulgong Hospital last Thursday of Mr. E. Carlisle, of Ulan, who had been a patient in the institution for over two months. He was a highly respected resident of the Ulan district. Mudgee Guardian, Thursday 23 May 1935, p. 12. Harold Carlisle Death

DEATHS Mrs. R. Hayden MRS Thelma Jane Hayden, wife of Mr R. Hayden, of Ulan, died in a private hospital in Mudgee on Tuesday at the early age of 33 years. Deceased was a fine, lovable character, and her passing will be deeply deplored right throughout the district. Prior to the funeral at Ulan yesterday the Rev. Caldwell, of Gulgong conducted an impres-sive service in the Church of England. He made feeling reference to the many noble qualities of deceas-ed, and told of her devoted work for the church, Sunday school and humanity. The funeral was one of the largest ever seen at Ulan, friends and admirers attending from near and far to pay their last sad tribute of respect to the mem-ory of a beloved friend. To the sorrowing husband and two young sons the deepest sympathy will be extended. Messrs J. C. Deaths Annie Jane Carlisle Mrs. Annie Jane Carlisle, who resided in Mullamuddy, passed away in Mudgee District Hospital on Tuesday, March 20, aged 85 years. She had been predeceased by her husband also a daughter, Thelma, and left the following sons and daughters Grace, Cecil, Albert, John, Dulcie and Miriam. The service took place on Wednesday afternoon from the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Mudgee, to the Church of England portion of the Ulan Cemetery, Rev. V. Hartwig, officiating. Obituary Mr. J. T. Carlisle John Thomas Carlisle, grazier, of Ulan, died in the Mudgee District Hospital, on Tuesday, aged 58 years. He leaves a widow, Edith Mary, and the following children: Nola, Max, Neville, Thelma, Helen, Kevin and Beryl. A service will be held at the Church of England, Ulan, at 11 a.m. this morning, before interment in the Ulan Cemetery. Funeral arrangements will be conducted by Messrs. Obituary Cecil Edgar Carlisle The death occurred in the Mudgee Hospital on December 21, of a very well known and highly respected citizen, Mr. Cecil Edgar Carlisle, 78, of Gladstone Street, Mudgee. A native of Murragamba-Ulan, Cecil a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold Carlisle (nee Miss Annie Byers) both members of pioneer Ulan families. Until he retired a few years ago, Cecil lived on the land and carried out farming and grazing. In his younger days, he was a good shearer and a keen sportsman. On May 9 1977, Cecil and his wife Dot (the former Miss Dot Hayden of Ulan) celebrated their golden wedding. Cecil was a reserved and sincere man, to his church, home and family. He will be sadly missed by his wife Dot, sons Clive, Trevor, John, daughter Joy and their families, and his sisters Miriam (Mrs. Paul Leven) and Dulcie of Mudgee. After a service in St. John’s Church of England on December 22, the cortege proceeded to the Canobolas Crematorium Orange for a service at 3.30 p.m. Mudgee Guardian Friday 6 January 1978, p. 2.
