The wedding was solemnised at St. John's Church of England on Saturday afternoon last, by the Rev. Canon Dunstan, of Robert Augustine, son of Robert Hair, late of Young,and Ethel Phoebe, eldest daughter of Henry James Hayden, of Ulan. The bride was given away by her father, and the bride's sister acted as bridesmaid. After the ceremony the young couple proceeded to Wollar, their future home. The "Guardian" joins with a large number of friends in wishing the young couple health and happiness in their future sphere (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative , Monday 6 May 1918, page 2). |

Marriage of a child | Phillip Henry Hayden — Nita May Leven — View this family 19 March 1932 (aged 59 years) WEDDING HAYDEN -LEVEN On Easter Saturday, at the Methodist Church, Mudgee, the Rev. H. C. Howard officiated at the marriage of Miss Nita May Leven, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs H. P. Leven, of Moolarben, to Mr. Phillip Henry Hayden, second son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Hayden, of Ulan. The bride was given away by her father. She wore a frock of white satin, with the customary veil and wreath of orange blos-soms. The bridal bouquet consisted of maiden-hair fern, zinnias, and cactus dahlias. Miss Clarice Leven attended his sister as bridesmaid, wearing mastic georgette and carried a bouquet of Easter daisies and dahlias. Mr. J. P. Leven was best man. Only immediate relatives were present. After partaking of light refreshments Mr. and Mrs. Hayden left by car for Bathurst and Orange for their honeymoon (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 31 March 1932, page 3). WEDDING A quiet wedding was solemnised in Mudgee on Saturday morning between Mr Phillip Hayden, of Ulan, and Miss Neta Levens, of Moolarben. Hayden THE death occurred on Friday last of Mr Henry James Hayden, one of the most widely known and highly respected residents of Ulan, aged 65 years. Deceased was associated with the district for practically a lifetime, and his sterling qualities won for him the love and esteem of all classes of the community. He is survived by a widow and family, to whom sincere sympathy will be extended. The funeral, which was one of the largest ever seen at Ulan, took place to the Church of England portion of the cemetery on Saturday afternoon, the Rev. L. V. Caldwell, of Gulgong, performing the last sad rites at the graveside. Messrs J. C. Swords and Son carried out the arrangements (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 4 May 1939, page 11). |
